Battery size
My battery went ***** up. I'm going to put in an Interstate. I know stock size is group 24. Has anybody tried to shoehorn a 27 in?
Also I want to swap out the alternator. I recall this board recommends the P38 unit. Does anybody have that part number and a trusted brand?

That battery is sold as a Duralast, Everstart, Energizer, and whatever Orielly’s sells. I’ve bought 2 and they’ve been great. Last one I grabbed from Sams Club was like 119.00 after a rebate.

A new battery is on my wish list..not because I'm having any problems, but because the stock battery just looks too small for a vehicle with heated seats, mirrors, and windshield.
If a group 49 AGM will fit in there, then that is what I need.
Since there is no charging voltage gauge on the dash, do you guys have your ultragauge setup to display voltage? I've never noticed any dimming lights even with everything powered on. Does the ECU control the voltage output from the alternator? Or does the alternator just have its own regulator?
