If you look on the site from down under (aust.) i think someone had a way to run the ABS pump manually.

Perhaps I may have completely gotten lucky when I did my ABS mod and replacing the shuttle valve seals. I just gravity bled at all four wheels over the course of about 4 hours, then took a drive around the neighborhood in low range, 1st gear with HDC on and just let the HDC get the rest of it out.

Running the modulator pump in isolation doesn't evacuate the air on both the A & B brake circuits and can burn out the pump if you don't know what you are doing. Both of the shuttle valves have to be activated to distribute the brake fluid to both brake circuits, to wit, A&B which cannot be achieved by merely activating the modulator pump. There are options, Nanocom, Hawkeye or LR Test Book plus other very expensive diag: equipment. There are other ways which are less reliable and hit and miss using the HDC etc but they are very hit and miss. It depends on how one values their stopping power and can tolerate spongy brakes or the worst condition, total brake failure.
