Default Brake calipers Disco I to Disco II

I searched this on the forum but no luck maybe long time members can help me, I was at the ecology pick n pull and found a disco I with a nice 4 piston calipers (I didn't know they came with 4 piston calipers) my questions are

1. is the 4 piston calipers from a discovery I better than the 2 pistons of the discovery 2?

2. will the calipers fit on the discovery 2 with just install & go with out modifications?

here are the calipers

Not an expert but I checked Advance Auto online -- the front caliper's do not share the same part number for replacement calibers. Seperate part number for Front Left D1 from Front Left D2.

Take that information for what it is worth -- maybe they will work.

Discovery 1's didn't come with four piston calipers, it must have been a retrofit.
D1 and DII calipers are different.

Obvious follow-up question...are there RR calipers that are both better than the stock DII and direct bolt on? If so, what year/part #/etc?

If you want better brakes on a D2, replace all 6 rubber brake hoses, installed slotted and drilled rotors and Akebono ceramic pads, you will be surprised at the difference

right now I have a steel brake lines on all 6, bosch quietcast rotors all 4 and a powerstop Z16 evolution on the front & centic on rears I don't know if its the ceramic or just the semi metallic didn't change the rears they are still about 50% when I got the disco 2. the brakes are ok the feel is good it stops ok but if I can improve more the better right.
