brake clunk
Hi everyone,
I have a 2000 Disco II with 130,000 miles. Recently my brakes have developed a clunk when I go to stop. Also, the front left brake sounds like a cable going into tension and I can feel it in my pedal as I push down. This happens even when I am stopped so I don't think that my problem is due to rotors. Maybe the caliper?
Thanks for the help

Why ask us, when you haven't even gone and pulled the wheels and done an inspection. Come on, we can help but you also need to lend a little help in the form of what you have checked and seen.
In the mean time, don't drive it.

Okay, so I pulled everything apart and found that my right brake pads were worn down to nothing and I had almost all of my left ones. Both the right and left caliper had busted seals and the right one had to have been sticking due to the excessive uneven wear. So I went ahead and replaced the front calipers, discs, and pads. Everything is back together now and feels okay, however I looked at my discs today and the front left still has lines like a newly machined disc and the right looks smooth. I have heard that the front right wears faster due to the slope of the road but I don't think it should wear that much faster. Any suggestions?
On all vehicles, the r/f brake pads does wear slightly more because of the camber of most roads.
Check your air pressure to make sure both the fronts are equal, then try a couple hard, straight stops, with your hands off the steering wheel, does it pull.
Did you do a full 3 or 4 pint brake flush after doing the brakes?
