Brake Light Solder
I had a post a few weeks ago about my brake light not working correctly and I was told to warm up the solder. I just now am getting around to it and I just want to make sure I do it right, first off, I can use a regular blow torch right?? And second can someone post a diagram or picture of the location of the solder, I dont want to warm up the wrong thing! I know where it is on my other cars but you just never know with a Rover! THANKS!

I have never heard of this prcedure. D2's are known to have loose light sockets and with time and mileage they bibrate the contacts loose and wear the down.
I have to think you need the tail light assembly light holder.

Do not use a torch. Use an electronics soldering iron. I vaguely remember the post and if I recall, you bent the tabs out for the socket and the light will work ok with the lens out of the truck, but once you tighten it, the light goes out? I am not sure where the solder is on a D2, you will have to look. Whatever you do, don't use a torch.
Yeah ur right, thats what happens. I won't use that torch, I'm glad I asked!! Mike, what is a tail lightassembly light holder? is it something that I need to buy? Let me know, i need to get this fixed! I dont want to get pulled for having a tail light out. THANKS

Take your rear light assembly off, turn it over and you'll see a flat plate held to the light assembly housing with 5 or 6 screws, that is the part that when removed has the sockets for all the light bulbs. It is the sockets that wear down some times causing the loss of a bulb. You might remove your and inspect the bulb in question, make sure the bulb is not bad also.
