Default brake lights stay on....

Again, hello to everyone...
As soon as I insert my key into the ignition, the brake lights on my1999 disco 2 go on and stay on forever, until I take my key out.
Well, I was able to fix the problem without spending a dime.
There is a pin that can be pushed in and out at the tip of the brake light switch. The one for my car is a little longer than the one that was in it. Because of the fact that I am in a third world country I had to improvise. I drilled a little hole on top of the pin and screwd a half inch screw half way, that extends it to the length that was required, put it back on and voila... Woks as a charm... So, make sure you have the right one in place. I hope I was able to help somebody today.

I would suggest you get a switch on order. Mine started out like that and then quit working soon afterwards. Without the brakelight switch, I was unable to shift out of park. (brakes had to be applied before shift would move)

Change the switch with the truck off.
Or else you may get a fault and a code.
