Brake Problem
I am continuing to have a brake problem. I replaced the MC b/c it was leaking and sometimes my brake pedal would travel farther to the floor, especially when driving on the interstate without touching the brakes for a while and then trying to stop. Pumping the brakes once when this happens makes the travel reduced and pedal firmer. Could I have received a defective Master Cylinder? I have bled the brakes at all 4 wheels but could not get the ABS module to activate. I also bled the Master Cylinder before installing. Vehicle is 1998 D1
A shop can make the Abs Module run while they blead the system. When changing a ABS module you are supposed to do this, I don't know if you need to make it run when changing the master cylinder. You might have air trapped in the ABS module.

The manual also says "hook it up to testbook, and navigate to the menu item that runs the ABS modulator".
Indeed, you'll have that same symptom -- as do I on my DII -- if you don't. On the second pump, they're decent, but before that, not so much.

I purged two big bottles of the valvoline synthetic till fluid was clear. Is there a way to activate the pump without testbook? I tried the three pumps with the brake pedal and hold for 60 seconds while the key was on the 2nd position, but this did not work. Do I need to do this with the bleed screw open?
