Default Brakes...

My 03 Disco's brakes start to squeek after a while of driving and get pretty loud when hot. The pads are pretty new installed by a chrysler dealer about 4 months ago. Now i was told its a good idea
to have your discs cut, prior to installing new pads. And that some shops just tend to install pads with out letting peopleknow thatcut discs would improve the longativity of the brakes.
Is this correct or is my friend way off on his part. My friend told me I should have them cut instead of replacing the pads again.
Any info? Thanks a bunch....

Do not cut/machine the rotors. These cars will wear them under the discard limit about every other brake job. Having them machined will only shorten their wear life. If they are warped - replace them.

The chrysler shop probably installed cheap domestic pads and probably no sound deadening material. This will cause you problem cause it will trip the ABS warning lights with all the squeaking an that will cost you big time to diagnois and repair.
