Default Britpart 180F Thermostat:

I just ordered my second Britpart 180F Thermostat the other day. I bought one for my friends 03 D2 and upon inspection it was stamped with 78C inside vs the usual 82C for a 180F Thermostat, so for anyone wanting a cooler than 180F OEM style Thermostat the Britpart 180F unit is actually a 172F unit. I bought mine for a trail spare, but after getting my friends 03 all fixed up and running super cool I may slap it in and buy myself another as a spare.

Just wanted to pass that info along to anyone out there considering the OEM Grey LR 180F (dunno what it's stamped inside as I never bothered to look). The Britpart unit looks really nice and it's definitely not a Motorad unit!

Yeah I know, but vs my OEM LR Grey one in my 99 D2 (with perfect cooling system) I'm seeing 4F lower temps with the Britpart unit so far. 4F isn't like OMG, but I'll take anything I can get. The P/N: is PEL500110-BP.

The unit I pulled from my friends D2 was clearly stamped 82C (motorad cheapo POS that was completely falling apart internally... Had my friend driven it more than just to my house for repairs it would have killed his 4.6L for sure). It would be awesome if this sucker was fully open at 172F lol.

FYI, my inexpensive 180 degree normal color Eurospare is still good to go after 1.5 years.

I just pulled a white 180F (non motorad) unit off my Kalahari and slapped on the Britpart unit. I hadn't changed it since when I bought it the owner had just had it installed. It looked good so it's now a trail spare.

Temps have increased in the weeks since I ordered it, but seems to be the same overall with maybe a 1-2F temp up/down difference.

I'm still looking into modifying my spare 03-04 grill for more airflow & possible hood louvers.
