Had anyone installing the britpart rear bumper had a problem with alignment. Mine pushes up the plastic trim at both corners - even broke one. The 2 welded in spacers above the tow hitch plate seem to push the bumper too high.
Yup same problem, but as it is the rainy season right now so I am living with it. My plan is to loosen everything off, then tighten just the center bolts and see what happens if it stays level then the outside bolts are the issue. But I think it is the center causing the issue as it is the same on both sides. In which case a bit of bending should correct it.
Bending that piece of steel doesn't seem easy, but that should help. I also considered using some thicker spacers between the bumper and frame - but aligning on my own was tough and I'd rather let those bolts screw in as far as possible.
That tool looks cool Richard, but I don't think it will work on your bush bumper. The rear bumper that was on my D2 when I got it was bent. It was 2X4X1/8" rectangular steel tube. I put my floor jack under it to straighten it. With the whole weight of the rear corner of the truck on it, it didn't budge. With the jack still on it, I took a 16lb sledge hammer to it and it still didn't budge. I think your Britpart bumpers are similar construction to this. (I looked into the Britpart bumper, but in the end I made my own. When I replace the front I'll seriously consider a Britpart bumper).
@Harvlr I hoping I can rent one or DIY one to try. Bending the center portion should be doable, but as you know it has been a little wet for that kind of thing in the driveway. In my case it is not much, I can make an angled shim easy enough it is just a ton of fiddling, marking then welding the shim in place on the bumper so it can not move.
