I posted a question earlier, but I don't think my question was clear. I've had this rod break twice in 2 years locking me out of my Disco II. Right now I have another used rod in place, but there is now a steel replacement rod available. The site that sells it indicates the rod breaks after someone no longer uses the electronic opener and instead opens the door manually with the key, which is what I was doing. I now have two new electronic keys for the door. My question is, Should I replace the factory rod anyway, or is there indeed no risk of the rod breaking if I just open the door with my electronic opener? Thanks!
