Brush Guard Lights
Yeah, this is pretty easy. I'm actually looking to do LESS modification my way. I would like to keep the current factory switch for the lights and the current wiring from the switch to the relay. The instructions said to modify a cruise control switch, run new wires, etc. It is a pretty easy set up after that.

Re: How to wire or hook up fog lights?
Here's a wiring diagram that might help:

do you think you can use the existing switch? I dont see why not, we may have lights
Yep! I'm guessing instead of tapping the lights like said there, the existing wires to the high beam in the fuse box would work.
I'd suggest that you just go with whatever the relay says when you buy one.
Success (for the most part)! So, went out and got a basic relay like shown. I was able to hook it up and have them fire when the high's come on. The switch is totally out of the equation now. I would like to have them switchable though, so I still need to figure that part out. I will take any advice on how to wire that up. The unused wires I have are:
Red and Blue coming from factory switch
White which is live when the ignition is on regardless of what lights are on.
What I wired:
Fused positive from battery
Negative to chassis
Both positives from lights together (negative now both to the chassis)
Blue/Orange from the high beams as the trigger.
Any ideas on how to get the switch to work? Totally stumped. Blew out a few fuses trying things out, and would rather now press my luck!

the factory switch is "momentary", so it does not work in the same way as a latching switch, hence I modified mine with a cruise switch to keep the same "function" as the factory look / setup.
The only way it could be done using the momentary switch is to use a latching relay that when +12v is applied it latches in, but stays latched in even when the +12v is removed, and then is unlatched by applying +12V again.

. I the same way. Have you pulled the existing switch out to see what wires go in to it and out. I got mine working, they work only with High beams, if I switch them off, I have to push them back on. No big deal.
All the details are on the page / link I posted.
