Default Busted front diff. Now what?

I was out wheeling in the snow today (2 feet +) and somehow managed to break my front diff.

I was able to use my winch to get out, and then limp the truck home using the CDL.

I pulled the axle out and the diff apart, to find a pile shavings and stripped out gears. The ring and pinion seem to be fine.

So, now what?

While I've got this apart, I may as well make it better.

But a stock diff back in it?
But a different diff back in?
Put in a locker?
If locker, which one?
What about the ring and pinion, should I replace those too?
Should I regear? I'm running 275/70R18s, (10% change over stock)

Thanks

Max

And then there is always the option of a salvage or used one from a donor vehicle. A whole axle assembly is like $150 and up, depends on yard.

You'ld want to stay stock ratio unless planning on doing both front and rear diff

Agree with Hilltopper....
Call the folks at great basin Rover. If you are running a non stock tire size I would spend the extra money and get them to build you one with the better gearing ratio. then you will never really have to worry about the front diff again
