Buying a 2000-02 Disco
I'm a college student that makes a decent amount of money. I am looking to get an 00-02 Disco and have found a few at some dealerships in my price range that have approx 80k miles on them. I'm just wondering if you guys have any tips for me while looking at one, or if you don't think i should even get one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
get vehicle and maintenance records. make sure everything is in good running order and all work has been done.
test drive and have codes read. come back here and post the codes here if any come up.

Yes, Check Engine Light codes, any auto parts store will read them for free.
You MUST use premium gas, you MUST get the front driveshaft rebuilt using greasable u-joints.
Do a seach on the forum for the "3 amigos", "SLS" and "ACE".

If you off road much you might want to consider an 04 or a DI (94-99, don't let the high miles scare you these trucks last forever if you find a good one) because they have the center diff lock.
Ryan,
What do you plan on using the truck for, if it is wheeling, you cant buy an 02 or 03, they don'r have a locaking t/case for the CDL and extra traction.
How much are you wanting to pay?
