Default buying transfer case advice

I am buying a used transfercase with 40k on it from a junkyard. Are there any parts (ancillary) which I should make sure are included in the purchase. I do not want to disassemble it at all, just put it in. I dont want to have to go to the dealer and spend money after the fact.

try to get one with a CDL ('99-mid '01) and be sure to get shift lever if you don't already have one

Make sure the front shaft gets rebuilt to prevent it's failing and killing the tranny.
As for the install, changed out the t/case fluid, use only 85W/140 synthetic gear oil and replace the rear tranny seal and the front and rear's t/case seals before installing them.

Had the front driveshaft replaced 5k ago because of the 2 inch lift, all greasable ujoints. Will buy the new seals tomorrow. Also, the "high/low" lever on the new transfer case is very difficult to move back and forth. Is that normal and will it free up once I connect my existing cable or could it be an indication it may lockup in the future?

you need to clean and lube it before you install it. it was most likely never used to shift from hi-lo and therefore is nearly ceased
