No pain no gain.

The most work will be splicing and extending the cable.

Work in a bright light, phone cable colors on cheap cable can be very close to each other. Color blind telco guys don't last long.

Oh if I had a nickel for every telco/data wire I have punched, beaned, or spliced. That is my former profession.

What about wire tap connectors? Then I don't have to cut the original cable, and can get another cable end off a junker.

Well here is the 1st step. I cut up the old center dash. ( I have another from ebay, because this one the tabs were all broken off, so perfect for this mod!)

Dang, you're almost there! I really like that mod too. Would love to install a VERY clean looking Double DIN Touchscreen GPS enabled stereo in the old Stereo/AC position.

Overhead cut, Climate Control mocked up. Next up Fiberglass and Bondo. Then on to the task of extending the control cables.

Well this project had taken a back seat for a while. Tonight I finished assembling the wire harness. I ended up purchasing 18awg wire off of ebay for around $40. It consisted of 10 colors 50 feet of each. Which was plenty.

I cut 10 ft sections and then created a wiring diagram. The wires were spliced with uninsulated butt connectors and then individually heat shrinked. Once all the single wires were terminated and heat shrinked I heat shrinked the bundle at the connectors.

The overhead console is about 50% complete. I still have to figure out a way to fill the large gaps before I can bondo and paint.

Ralphobell - Did you ever finish this? I'm about to take on the same A/C control relocation in order to install an iPad in the dash.
