A/C issue
Its the blend motor not opening/closing all the way to block off air from the fan going through the heater core. Not sure how much of a bear it is to replace. You might be able to get to it via taking the glove box off... Probably could.
Oil light flickering is a much bigger issue! And you'll need the AC after you read this.
The oil PSI switch triggers at about 7 PSI. The minimum spec for a D2 is 10 PSI at idle, and 50 PSI at 2000 rpm, warmed up.
First order of business is check oil level. Second, change oil and filter. Use Shell Rotella 15W40 if available. Do not use any oil that is 10W30, Rover rates that oil for 95F or lower temps. An oil PSI test is done by renting a gauge and removing the oil switch. The gauge will indicate a high reading at both cold idle and cold revved up. That is because the oil filter bypass valve is allowing the thick cold oil to bypass the filter media. This high reading should remain at revved up speed when warmed up, but at idle speed drop into the 20's PSI range. A cracked oil pump frequently shows up as the high pressure not staying above spec when warm. Oil pump requires a removal of water pump and front cover, the kit of parts is like $115.
Can also be problems with oil strainer pickup covered with trash, or the O-ring on the pickup tube rotted and sucking air. Removing the oil pan will show much.
Can also be restriction in oil cooler, after a certain VIN D2's dropped the oil cooler.
Can also be a combination of low weight oil and overheating engine, which thins oil. And yes, can be a bad switch. However, you must weigh the possible problems vs buying a a new engine and the problems with swapping that out under the shade tree.
So drive something else while you work this out, low lubrication has a habit of turning your engine into modern art sculpture.

It could be the blend door motors (which are external) but I think the oil light flashing takes precedence over any A/C problems.
