Default A/C leak, what to do?

I had falling off A/C cooling and added some 134 with oil and with a dye. It leaked here at the top. Leaked at the smaller fitting towards the rear of the truck in the picture.

What can I do? Do they sell the gasket for just that? Are both on one gasket? I have a set of gauges and a vacuum pump to recharge the system, question is about the gasket. Do I buy a whole rebuild kit?

In the RAVE workshop manual for your truck, section 82 page 30 (AC system, repairs, compressor, v-8) it shows just O-rings there, which is typical of that sytle fitting. While you can order "special" - "approved by Rover" ones, most auto parts stores sell a $6 blister pack of green multiple sizes, metric is very common even in domestic cars. The RAVE may come in handy for this, as it shows the dismantle procedure and the charging specs, etc. And it is free!

Yes replace your o-rings, take your truck to a shop that can empty your A/C, so you dont wast your oil. be very carful not to over tighten your bolts when tighting them up as they are easy to strip the unit as it is aluminum.O dont be tempted to use that sealing crap, as it will cause probs. Good luck

Should have looked in the Rave first. Thanks for the section and page. For others that don't have the free Rave, here is that section and page. Get the Rave!

Good idea to bring it to an A/C shop to capture the oil and R134. Will get a quote.

And I did have a little temptation to use that gasket seal stuff not knowing it was an O ring.
