They plug in an OBD2 code reader, so unless you change the ecu, bcu, and gages to non sai, then you get a code and fail inspection.

It's coded into the VIN. SAI-equipped vehicles show up as low-emissions. No amount of changing components is going to alter that.

This too^

The only way around it is that state laws vary, as well as who is doing the inspection.
Some states don't have inspections, and not all states do emmissions testing.
Va is strange in that only Northern Va has emmisions testing for state inspection. The rest of the state does not.

Just one of those things I didn't decide to do until I already had it apart for something else. Real easy to jusylt hook the mig up with a high wire speed and fill em up, too. Probably quicker than hunting around the hardware store for the plugs youd need.
