Default Can you over-grease?

I've been thinking that with the abundance of issues we see w/ front drive shafts breaking, would it be overkill to just grease it with every oil change at 3k intervals? You're already laying right there anyway, might as well pop the grease gun on and lube them more often.

"YUP"
Only every 12,000 miles unless you are doing deep water crossings every month. You will blow out the grease cuos then you will need new u-joints.

I grease mine every 5,000 miles and have never had an issue on any of my cars.
100,000 miles on my Montero with the original u-joint.

from the Tom Woods driveshaft site:
http://www.4xshaft.com/index.html
He seems to be big into greasing much and often. Will the u-joints seal be damaged if the grease purges from them? Hum? Good idea about covering one end of the lower shaft and greasing until the grease comes from the seal/spline end. How many here knew there was a flat grease fitting at the center knuckle joint? My new DII driveshaftsuperstores unit has the center knuckle grease fitting. I was pleased to see it and wil service it often. Be Safe, Mark V.

I have always purged the old grease/water out when I grease mine my last 4x4 had over 200,000 miles and I never
had to replace a u-joint.
