If you already removed the 8 bolts on the rectangular cross-member frame-support bar to remove it, then you just need to turn the steering wheel to opposite lock to give yourself enough room for the pan to clear the round front sway bar.

*If it still doesn't clear it then you may need to jack up the front a few inches to raise the suspension.

I heard you can remove the pan without removing the cross member by just jacking the truck up high enough, true?

I doubt it, but maybe someone with a 6" lifted Disco could jack it up high enough for the pan to come out the front?? Even that I doubt, but I haven't tested it so who knows.

...but, that rectangular frame support cross-bar won't raise or lower or change its position vs your oil pan no matter how you jack or lift your Disco(?), so every normal Disco owner is going to have to unbolt it, which is easy, just 8 bolts that won't give you any trouble. They won't be rusted or anything (though come to think of it, I hit all of my bolts with penetrating oil about an hour before I did my oil pan removal this morning).

Then the oil pan twists plus comes down and out the back.

Jacking up your Disco *will* help clear the round sway bar, though.
