Had a V6 LR3 with cat codes well over 100k that we would do an induction service and use bg 44k every time he filled and it took longer and longer for the light to come back on so we knew it was working to clean the cats a bit slower then usual but still cleaned them.

Yeah, I was in a hurry to post that before going to work today. There were a few cars we had to do the induction service on a few times to kill the P0420 code.

Go get your codes read and get back to us with your current fault code numbers, not your old code numbers. Are your cats noisey, do they rattle, what octane gas are you using and had you ever lost your head gaskets.

Used OEM cats same lack of P0420 code for 5+ years. The best place for used converters is Brown Recycling Mfg., Inc.. I have never checked on a Disco cat, so I don't know their stock. Some of the recyclers on this board would be worth a try also.

Just my 2 cents.
That would explain why when searching for an aftermarket cat for my honda, they listed a "standard" load and a "premium" load. I'm guessing that maybe the cheaper version doesn't have enough catalyst in it for a dirty running engine. Worked fine in my honda though. I wonder if a Disco with SAI would last longer with a cheap cat.

i did the diagnostic test and all the sensors read fine. exception cat converter, no codes just N/A. so i plan to take it to a muffler shop to see what is the issue. i have no rotten egg smell and the gas mileage is good.
