Default Catalytic Converters

Would like high flow. Is there an inexpensive high flow out there? Not interested in spending big bucks, not even sure I need new ones. 156k on the clock, why not? I searched threads but all links were to cat backs or were broken.

Most if not all aftermarket catalysts manufactured for the DII wil be "high-flow". Reason being is they are made with less PGM (Platnium Group Metals) than came from the factory.

I can say with experience, stay away from Davico. They are junk the fittment is atrocious and the build quality is sub par. I had to wrestle, bend and beat mine into place. After two years one of the catalysts dislodged from the shell.

Check out Magnaflows.

I've had the Magnaflow universal fit converters. They seemed to work fine, though were starting to smell a little on the top of the RPM range at WOT after a couple years. Thebflowmaster spun cats also appear to be of good quality. I like the form factor better, too. If you get the magnaflows, B sure to leave adequate room between cat and frame to prevent them from rattling on each other.

thanks for the link man. I imagine that any significant time at WOT my truck would burst into flames and create all kinds of interesting smells.

A lot of people underestimate what these engines are capable of. If we're being honest, going WOT and revving her out every so often is actually good to break some carbon build up loose. Keeps things healthy.

I mean, sh*t, I ran mine like a bat out of hell 12k miles a year for almost three years. Never caused any issues.
