Default CDL cable & shifter

Been looking for a kit to install in my 2003 but the asking price make me feel like I'm buying parts for a Ferrari, I know someone was making it out of Poland but I can't find a lead on it, perhaps someone knows of a good source that is affordable. I know Ashcroft makes them and Ebay have used units but a $400 or so it have to be a better way, any help will be appreciated,,,,

If you have a 2003, you'll also need the front nose for the transfer case with the CDL nipple on it. It's going to cost more than $400.

I already have a complete transfer unit out of a 2004 so don't need
anything else but the operating cable, shifter lever and attachment brackets but the prices on this things are outrageous. You can buy a complete locking transfer case for $250 and the cable assembly and such will cost you $400 +/- ......?????

Locking transfer cases for a D2 are plentiful as the 99' through 01'(first 6 months) and the 04' came with them. The cable shifter only came on the 04' model.

Throw a D1 shifter on there and call it a day.

I found mine using car-part.com. it searches junkyards for the part. I think I paid around $180. Search for a 04 shifter Assy. You need to look at the list for a transfer shifter.

I got mine from an '04 at a boneyard about an hour away from me for $75. To them it was just a shift linkage. That price is with them removing it, not me. I know I got lucky but with some patience you might too.

I bought mine on ebay for 200 with free shipping. I felt good about it. Everyone else is asking 399 for them and they wont usually budge much when you make an offer. 2 months ago.

The 04 linkage is getting as rare as hens teeth. Just hack a d1. Shifter in there and call it good.
