EDIT: I found a great article here which addresses the question of wiring the diff lock sensor: 2003CDLInstall - LAND ROVER CLUB V.I.

In many cases the wiring is ready and waiting but if it isn't, this article tell you how to wire it yourself.
Here a overview of installin a cable style shifter: www.discovery2.co.uk/Factory Diff Lock

It also discusses the electrical portion at the end.

Thank you but the electrical section in that article only covers how to address the SLAB programming disabling TC, not connecting the Diff lock sensor.

What year is your DII? You may not need to swap out the core or wire up the switch. Mine is a 00 and the switch was already wired. I just needed to install the shifter.

Unfortunately it's an '02 so there isn't a nipple for the diff lock. I have the cone, I just need to swap it in.

It is a Kalahari although the picture is a year old and I've cleaned it up a bit since then.

FYI, front cone = front output assembly to the part guys. I got mine from Paul Grant for $100, and it was shipped in a Home Depot bright orange bucket delivered by UPS.

Did you do the work yourself? Any tips? It seems pretty straight forward. The only concern I have is dealing with the removal of the cats and the rust on the connectors.

Douse the bolts with PB blaster for a week before hand, then hit 'em quick with an air gun. Slow/steady pressure from a breaker bar will just snap the heads off.

I would have new gaskets and bolts ready just in case, it wouldn't hurt to be prepared.
