Default CDL install q on the rivet size

I'm planning the CDL install on my 00 soon, just planning ahead so I have everything I need.

Does anyone know what size rivets I'll need? I don't have a rivet gun, I found some cheap but they all have different size heads/rivets either with it or seperate for cheaper. I have never had to use one, nor will I ever again in the future haha so this'll be a one shot then return or off to ebay type deal

just pick up a cheap rivet gun with a variety of rivets...I rarely use mine but it's nice to have one when you need it.

they all only come with like 5 of assorted sizes, ill need about a dozen, no? so ill need to know which to get first...no point in buying the $150 super set when I can get away with a $15 gun and a pack of the rivets.

yeah you'll need about a dozen. I forget which sized I used, it was one of the medium sizes in the pack.

Just a suggestion, but you might want to consider using sheet metal screws instead of rivets. You'll thank me if you ever have to take the console back apart again in the future...

another option would be to install rivet nuts, then you could just use pan head screws and would not have to worry about sharp screw point sticking threw. Should you ever be on you back in the mud reaching up to free the linkage.
