Default Center Locking Differential?

This is a photo of the top of the Transfer Case on a 99 disco 2. I am trying to learn more about the CLD and am wondering if this is the nipple in question.

Yea it doesnt move much but you know when it does. I couldnt get a socket on mine before i got the cdl level installed, but an open ended wrench worked perfect.

Has anyone else noticed the reference to this remnant in the D2 section of RAVE? It's mentioned in regards to testing the vehicle on rollers or "rolling road testing." The feature "was retained for this purpose." Certainly not because it was how the boxes were always made and changing them was not cost effective. I've seen drivelines on many vehicles with specific accomodations for rolling road testing.

Sounds like they had the manual written by a PR firm.

Looking from the top down at the t-case:
clockwise - locked
counterclockwise - unlocked
