Default central locking issue

had a very heavy rain all day today. it had stopped for several hours when my alarm started going off for no apparent reason. So i went out to investigate and this is what i found.

My key fob will unlock the doors, and disarm the alarm. However, it will not lock the doors or arm the alarm. When i hit the lock button on my fob the horn will sound, just like it does when you lock the vehicle with the hood open, but the doors will not lock and the alarm will not arm itself. Also, the door lock button on the dash did not initially work but is now working fine.

what the hell is going on? Is this a BCU issue? did something get wet? or is this just more famous brittish wiring? any help is much appreciated.

i will also say that i recently repaired my headliner but failed to adequately repair the sunroof drain (which only became apparent today) there was some water dripping onto the dash from around the rearview mirror area.
