Anyone know if there is significant benefit (or detriment) in using a 4.6L ERR5250 cam in a 4.0L build that calls for the ERR3720 cam?

 

Are these stock cam grinds? If so, you'll make a little more power with the 4.6 cam. It is an upgrade I've heard of people doing. The difference shouldn't be much. I don't know the actual numbers, but probably slightly more valve lift and perhaps a hair more overlap.

 

Completely stock. The 4.6 cam only costs about $10-$15 more than the 4.0 so it sounds like a worthwhile investment. Thanks.

 

Mine has the 4.6 cam in it. It was in there when I bought it so no before and after experience. I also have 1.6 roller rocker custom setup also done by the PO. 40 kmiles so far and it runs pretty good.
