Default change rear wiper blade w/o removing spare

Is it possible to change the rear wiper blade without removing the spare tire? I ordered some new blades and could not get the old rear wiper blade out of the wiper arm. The owner's manual says remove the spare...I don't want to take it off if i don't have to.

Can you turn the rear wiper on, then when it is clear of the spare, turn the truck off, leaving the wiper "stuck" halfway up? I haven't looked at mine to see if that would work, so I may be wrong.

yes, that is right. Run the rear wiper and turn off the engine when it is at about 10 o'clock. Use a small flat head screw driver to pop one of the posts holding the blade housing out and push the whole unit out. you'll have to apply some pressure to get the new one in.

Replacing the rear wiper blade is a great time to remove the spare and inspect it for damage and also to check the tire pressure in it.
Removing it also helps keep the lug nuts that hold it on from rusting onto the studs and preventing you from ever getting it off the truck ever again.
Remember, it is where alot of dirt and water and road salt collects and things back there rust quick.
Dont be lazy, take it off the truck.
