Default Changed Power Steering Fluid=WOW

Man, let me tell you...If you have a shimmy or a shake like I did, follow Mike's advice and change the power steering fluid. I did it today and I swear it's a different car. The steering wheel doesn't move unless you move it. I have 80K and the original damper and I swear it drives better than new. Thanks to Mike for all his advice!

Still need to get rid of that original steering dampener though.

Still get that whine when at full turn? What causes that anyway? Pump?

What exactly is a sterring dampener?

and I thought that whine was normal at full turn. All my other vehicles have done it, and it just means it's under stress...

I as well thought that was normal, I've had that whine on new cars as well as old...

is it not the norm on a rover?
