Default check engine light after induction cleaning!

Is it normal for the check engine light to come on after doing a proper induction cleaning and tbody cleaning? (can a autozone clear that light?) Also after slowly sucking a can of seafoam i did get lots of smoke but only for about 3-4 minutes. DOes this mean i did it wrong or was my engine cleaner than the average, i do have 81,000 on an 03 disco ? just curious--Jim

Don't sweat it.

I got an entire alphabet of codes after doing one.

Pull the codes and clear them. Write the codes down just in case, though. Autozone here checks them, but no longer clears them. Advance still does both, however.

You'll probably see a lot misfiring and O2 sensor codes. Might even see a MAF as well.

The check engine light should go off after a tank of gas or 2.

It goes by a certain number of ignition cycles. If the codes don't return after x number of cycles then the ecm turns off the lights. As said above though it is normal to get many codes after an induction cleaning as you are sucking petroleum distillates and alcohol straight into your engine.

I performed the procedure exactly how the HOW TO thread explains it so i am a little lost on how it could have gone wrong--Jim

It should go off by the next start up. Mine blinked when I was driving around smoking out all the gunk, but when off the next time I started the truck. What are the codes??

You are fine as long as your truck is running fine. The codes should disappear in the next few days. If they are still there in a week then have them read and let us know.
