check engine light after Sea Foam
Would it be advisable to do the seafoam procedure before changing spark plugs and plug wires or after? Car is running rough right now (cylinder 4 and 7 misfiring), will do change of plugs and wires tonight, so I was wondering if I should seafoam before or after.
Well, just did my induction cleaning with Seafoam. Bought 1 can and used 2/3 in the induction system and the rest in the gas tank. Ran it through the hose from the valve cover to throttle body slowly. Turned truck off for 30 mins. STarted truck for 10 minutes then after all the smoke kinda cleared I drove it around the block. I didn't notice too much difference....maybe I have to drive i more.
Use the whole can. Then dump another in the gas tank.
If it goes in to slow it wont do anything because the engine will just burn it like gas.
You need to dump it in fast enough to almost stall the engine.

I did it as fast as I could without stalling it. Probably put 2/3 of the can in in approx. 2-3 minutes.I don't know if it could be done faster.... Is it safe to do it again so soon after? After I do it do I turn the motor off for 30 mins?
Uh Oh! I am hoping to have the same problem that started this thread. Saturday I had Magnecor 8mm wires and Bosch 4418 (+4)'s installed on my 04 Disco. While I was at it, I cleaned and re-oiled the old K&N. The shop I took it too did a 3 step fuel system cleaning and the day after it was done My "Service Engine Soon" light came on. The thing that is odd is that it seems to be running better than before all that stuff was done. peppy, quiet(er).... Just have that stupid light on the dash... I am crossing my fingers that it goes off in the next day or two.
Is there any harm in letting it go a couple days before I go get the codes read?
