Default Check your Serpentine Belts

So I went out to swap in a dorman fan and clutch into the white disco this evening and found my serpentine belt was in terrible shape. I bought it at the end of April from Lucky8 and it's an Allmakes belt. I should have known better but they had the fastest shipping and I was in a bind. My truck hasn't overheated and all the pulleys/bearings spin as they should so really no reason for the belt to look this bad in such a short period of time. I have contacted Lucky8 to see if there is some sort of warranty as less than 6 months of use a problem imo.

Anyways just take a minute next time you've got the hood up to take a quick visual. Having had one fail before it's really not fun and a cheap and easy avoidable issue.

When it comes to serpentine belts I have always paid for the top of the line units from Dayco, Gates, Continental, or Goodyear. I've always been offered the much cheaper solutions whenever I've actually gone into an Auto Parts store and they look shocked when I tell them no thanks lol. I haven't been a fan of AllMakes4x4 stuff since I rebuilt a 4.6L engine 4-5 years ago and the brand new timing gear set was made wrong... I quickly mentioned it to Lucky8 and nothing was ever done about it....

I was in a bind when I purchased this or I wouldn't have ordered from them...as almost all of their stuff is on the cheaper end and simply not my favorite place to spend any money if it can be helped. I don't expect anything really from them nor would a replacement get used other than to be added to the spares box in case of emergency.

I installed a Conti and got a Dyco as spare. These belts are not that expensive and they last long.
