Child seat tether retrofit

Child seat tether retrofit
Hi All, we just bought a forward facing car seat for our little one and everything i have read online as well as the car seat manual recommends using the upper tether along with the seat belt. I don't seem to have one in my 2000 but i know that they were mandatory in 2001. there must be a way to retrofit whatever bracket that was on the 01 to a 2000, right? I called the dealership and she said they don't sell anything like that.
Thanks in advance, you guys are always awesome.

Now that the toddler, pregnant sick wife, and dogs are all sleeping i had some more time to look into this. after a few iterations of googling and going out to page 5 each time i found someone else with the same problem and learned that they do in fact make this kit. Pictures attached. I will call again tomorrow with the part number and see if she would like to look this up in the computer rather than knowing off the top of her head she doesn't have an obscure part for a 16 year old truck

hmph, when we switched to forward facing the seat had a separate strap and hook that we installed on the floor ring in the far back / cargo area. I know I didn't make that up on my own. Maybe it was in the owners manual for the truck or the car seat. I'll tell you, more than anything else, I kept forgetting to take the strap out when I moved the seat to the car.

the part does exist, special order. LR flatirons $78.48, LR Denver $93.62 for a bolt and an L bracket. called Atlantic British they don't carry it nor do the local indie shops. So i think ill try the local pick and pull and that's unsuccessful i will order it and tell my account it was only like 18 bucks.
Trust me i looked at the D rings in the cargo area and it it s really tempting to use them, if it were my own safety i probably would, but for my daughter i just don't want to risk it. I cannot tell how or what they are attached to. The manual doesn't say they can or cannot be use for this purpose however they do warn you that the use of an aftermarket tether anchor drilled into the headliner will void the warranty. i knew going into this that LR ownership would be about as expensive as raising a child, so if we all make it home safe and sound it'll be 80 bucks well spent.

I saw those on an 04' I just parted out and couldn't figure out what they were for, sent it off to the JY with those in it. Lesson learned...

Best i can tell from my research and painting with a broad brush. They were not mandatory until 2001 so the 2000 did not come with them, but because they knew this regulation was coming the engineered a mounting point on the seats for the next year. I mean at $90 a piece they were saving 180 dollars per truck hard to blame them *sarcasm*
