Use a can of WD40 or some other spray lube to isolate the chirping from the accessory. Spray one bearing at at a time to see if the noise changes. When it does, you've found your culprit.

How often to the tensioner/idler pulleys go bad on these?

Well we made it back but the sound is still there stronger than ever sounds like a compression leak but other than the noise it runs like a top and no check engine light, tomorrow I will pull the belt off and start it for a minute to see if this could possibly be a pully issue but I have strong doudts about it.

Mike the noise is present with the vehicle in park ( not moving) it changes with rpm..

Well I started pulling spark plugs one by one and I have found the cylinder making all the noise its the third one back passenger side I did a compression test on that cylinder and it wont even register on the gauge.
do you think I am looking at a stuck intake valve or a head gasket? This disco does have over 200,000 miles on it

Doesn't much matter which you are looking at, the head is coming off either way.

I'd suggest tearing it down to where you can get the valve covers off and turning it by hand before going any further just to see what you have going on in case it is a stuck valve.

200k isn't bad....but I'm sure your head gaskets aren't anywhere close to that old.
