How hard would it be to wire the cig lighter to a different fuse that is always hot? I'm constantly on my phone and constantly charging it. I would like to have it keep charging if I'm out and on location somewhere (Rover ignition off.)

 

Fuse adapter and an in-line fuse and a look at the RAVE wiring diagram or use a volt meter. A "shade tree" method is to buy a battery boost box (like you crank cars with) that has a power outlet (for the phone) and plugs into the cigar lighter or rear power outlet (also switched). But most people would take the phone with them when out of the truck.....

 

I rewired the one in the console to be always hot using a simple Add-A-Circuit adapter from the fuse box under the driver's side dashboard. You'll likely need to pull the console to get behind the lighter though, so while you have it out replace it with a U.S. size lighter. Some accessories don't fit well in the OE lighter.
