Cigarette Lighter
Before I makean attempt...
How easy is it to replace the cigarette lighter in a '95 Discovery? Mostly, how easy is it to get to the lighter. I assume the entire console has to come out.

I have a 96 disco 1 and yes, the center console has to come out.On mine, I had to remover the bolts in the armrest /cupholder, 2 bolts under the rubber mat cover towards the dash,The shifter ****& boot on the tranfer case, and the window controls. Raise the emergency brake up as high as it will go.
CAUTION: This is all abs plastic and is very fragile since it is old.
After all fasteners and electrical parts are off the console, slowly lift up @ the armrest andpush the console towards the dash as you lift. (this will allow clearance for the shifter) I suppose its an automatic. If not ,you will probably have to take the shift rod off. Once you clear the emergency brake, It should be free. install is reversal of removal Hope this helps.
