As a new Disco II owner i am wondering if i need to put the CLD through its paces from time to time. Also, are there any other procedures that should be done monthly or bi monthly in regards to tranny/CLD/TC care.

You should engage the CDL and Hi/Low at least once every month or two keep it from seizing up. Don't drive on pavement more than a few feet with with the CDL engaged though.
