Default RE: clearing codes for 3 amigos

Yeah I'm one that has had issues with the 3 amigo lights. The problem is the OBD2 Code reader can't clear the codes. This has to be taken to someone that has a computer that has the ability to get into the ABS system. The problem is when clearing the codes, most will come back on between 50 and 100 miles (mine did on the '01). When I took mine to the LR Stealership, they found that mine was an overlay harness to the right front wheel. As you have probably read when the lights are on may not mean the ABS is failing (mine still works), but my hill decent, and traction control does not work until I get the overlay harness replaced. However as you have read it can be the ABS modulator, and that part is very expensive to fix. The best way that I figured out was I took it out on a sand road and hit the brakes hard and I could feel the ABS kicking back at me, and since then we have had snow and Ice and seems to be fine, just don't have the traction control. So what ever the dealer charges for diag charges, they can clear the code and they should tell you what is wrong and then you replace it your self. Good Luck!!
