Default Clunk when braking?

So I noticed that when its raining outside and I apply the brakes (when moving 10mph or less) that I get a single clunk sound from what seems to be the front left wheel area. When I take back off then it makes a small clunk again. This only happens when its wet on the roads. If its dry then I dont get the clunk. Seems like the brake pads are getting wet from the rain and shifting at slow speed stops. I have not got a chance to inspect it yet. Its going to stay parked until I figure this out. Any ideas? I have a 96 discovery.

Lets let you do the hard work, go check the entire front end and when you have a better idea what is going on get back to us.

Inspect it, water the drive way and/or wet the brakes and have someone drive it back and forth at the slowest speed possible that will make the noise. Don't stand in front or behind during this test. You shouldn't have to move very fast/far to get enough momentum going to shift whatever is making the sound.

and or inspect the front end, jack both front wheels off the ground (securing the rear wheels) and check everything....EVERYTHING. Something is obviously shifting but why only when wet is weird.

Let us know what you find and if possible take pics of the culprit when you find it to help future members.
