Default Codes P0733 and P1844

I recently posted about disco II that won't accelerate and I've discovered codes P0733 and P1844. I wonder if these codes put the car in "limp home mode" and won't allow car to accelerate. Does this effect the advance of timing? And what are the remedies? The car seems to shift ok.

First, do you know what "Limp Mode" means and how it will drive if in limp mode.
I wouldn't worry about the 1884, it will go away when the 733, tranny out of ratio in 3rd. gear, is fixed.
Normally that code won't come up unless the MAF is failing and then you would also have some other codes indicating the engine is running to lean or rich.
You might try unplugging the MAF and see if it drives any differently.
Let us know what you find.

Default unplugged MAF

I unplugged the MAF and took it for test. The vehicle still won't accelerate. Seems to drive the same with or without MAF. What is that telling me? I'm also still having problems that I can't get a scanner to communicate with the vehicle's computer. Any thoughts?
