The leaves enter from the opening under the cowl. To remove them, you need to drop the blower.

So I'm not sure where amazon copied those reviews from, but the MAF is definitely not a direct fit into the 03-04 4.6 discos. It's about a 1/4" smaller in diameter. Another thing to note is the Bosch security screws are a 5 point t20 vs the aftermarket 6 point t20. Couldn't find a 5 point t20 in my tool box but a vise and some pliers will take it right out. All the part numbers were the same, just the housing was off so I simply swapped the Mass airflow sensor itself, running right so far













All done, I used the new screws so I won't have any issues with removal next time around
