Default replacing individual coil packs

is there any reason that i should not replace individual pairs of coil packs or is it really necessary to replace the whole bank of packs

if you can get them then go ahead. But don't assume that is the problem. I have seen a few ecus and fuel injectors cause the same issue.

What sort of problem are you having and how have you determined it is the coil?

Default misfire on cylinder 8

this misfiring only happens during warm up though once warm it stops. I also was pondering the engine coolant temp sensor but that hasnt gotten much play on here. also as a side note the rpms that te ecu are registering are higher than what the tach shows.... just a sidenote

replaced the wires with magnecors already and the plugs with new bosch fusions. cleaned the throttle body and replaced the fuel filter... done and induction cleanign and run drying agent through the fuel. replaced all 4 o2 sensors... kind of out of options.....

I'm going to try the same thing. I have misfire on 3 and 7, both off the same pack.

Snoop around, I've read that other coilpacks are a bolt-in (mitsubishi 4cyl.?)
although new they're not cheap either, but you may find it used.
