Also, I would deal with the shop now and not work on the truck in frustration. It will probably go much smother that way... just my .02.

Thanks willrok you have been a huge help. I will get on that asap. Do you know though if what the guy told me is true. Can you single out pressurizing the coolant sytem of the block. I thought that in the least you would have to plug the hose leading out to the throttle body heater even to attempt this (seeing as though this is the hose that broke). Otherwise wouldnt the pressure just escape out in that direction? I know he definately didnt plug it because it looks like nothing has been touched.

For good reason, I have never attempted to pressurize the system with a ruptured hose, but it seems to me it would have to be plugged somehow -- otherwise it is impossible just as you surmised. Maybe he put vise-grips on the hose or something like that? Can you see any evidence of plier teeth on the hose just above where it attaches to the nipple on the block? The throttle body heater just runs back to the reservoir so he wouldn't have to mess with that. It seems to me that it would have been easier to replace the f'ing hose than go through the trouble of trying to seal the ruptured one.

My money is on your mechanic did nothing...

Yea that's what I am suspecting. The hose ruptured right at the point where it connects to the engine. There isn't any room to put pliers or anything there to hold the pressure. I just wanted to make sure that there wasn't a machine in the shop that allows you to put hoses on the in and out ports of the engine so that you can single out the block from everything else. The only pressure systems I've seen are the ones that attach to the expansion tank. I'm going to ask for my money back on that basis but I didn't want to be wrong in my agruement
