Default The Coolant Nipple. Upper intake to throttle body

Hello everybody,

The time has come for me to bypass the throttle body heater due to the hose from the intake manifold to the throttle body leaking.

There is a little nipple that the hose attaches to on the intake manifold and I've got 201k miles so I'm sure its going to break there. I saw a part number running around for that nipple but now I can not find it. Anyone know it?

Just replace the whole thing with some fuel line or coolant line all the way from the overflow tank directly to the nipple on the intake lower manifold. If you remove the four bolts holding the A/C on and lift the whole unit out of the way you can get to it easily that way.

I'm going to do that. But there is a plastic nipple that is attached to the intake manifold. That is the one I need the part number for.

Not sure Which part you're talking about. Do you mean the throttle body heater itself? Could you provide a picture?

There's no hose that goes from the throttle body to the upper intake manifold, as far as I'm aware. There is a nipple for a hose that goes from the opposite side of the manifold to the valve cover. You might look here for reference: Intake Manifold, Top End, Engine, Discovery II - Rovers North - Classic Land Rover Parts

I can't show you a pic right now. The hose goes from the throttle body heater to the intake manifold right behind the a/c compressor.

batard, that diagram doesn't show the hose routing

Oh ok – you're talking about part #13 in that diagram (this one: PIPE-STUB, RNN347, PEP103530 - Rovers North - Classic Land Rover Parts). There's a short-ish black hose that connects it to the throttle body heater plate. The hose is #12 in this diagram: Throttle Body and Stepper Motor, Top End, Engine, Discovery II - Rovers North - Classic Land Rover Parts

Nice links, Batard.
