I think there is a clear reason why Land Rover uses these constant tension clamps on all of their vehicles.

When launching our coolant tank we sourced constant tension clamps as we feel they are better. But some of the feedback has been that DIY guys don't like them as you need a specific tool to use them easily.
I've never owned or used the special tool, mine are channel locks/pliers for my desired need, BUT I think a purpose built tool would be cool. Years ago I learned about "same spot on the hose" due to having leaks after a cooling system job, first thing I did was move the hose clamp to the original position and the leak stopped... So just a habit of mine now, and like you Abran, for esthetics.

^ That might well be the reason. But I hope that the savings is negligible when it comes to using the clamps.

Also, Assembly might be cheaper with the constant tension clamps.

Think I'll do the worm clamp on the thermostat area once it warms up a hair. Might add a drop of locktite to the threads as well. Can't hurt... Anyone in NYC have a super strong pair of clippers I can borrow to get these tension clamps off?

I just ordered some Breeze liner hose clamps for the silicone radiator hoses that i installed. i guess it could have been the squeeze clamps leaking but... Silicone is cool and should last longer. Now I know the squeeze clamps are leaking..
