do you know what year, make and models of thermostat fit in this housing?
also what is the lowest temp thermostat there is for chevys?
thanks

For a pusher fan you're going to want a fan without a shroud. As for fitting two pullers, there's no way. The biggest you could go with dual fans is 12". Well, MAYBE 14" if you staggered them, but when I had staggered 12s there was little extra room.

As for thermostat, I went with a 180. My truck has been idling in the yard for about half an hour and she is sitting dead at 180 right now. There's a lot of controversy as to where these trucks enter closed loop. Personally, I wouldn't go below a 170 thermostat. I haven't decided yet if I'm going to stick with the 180 or go to a 170 just because of how much I tow.

have a look at the inline thermo mod and associated write-ups. lots of good info in them.

lowest temp may not be best, resulting in poor performance and bad gas mileage. I think most folks go with a 180. these engines / ECM's are a little finnicky- not too bad, but a bit.

Here are some pictures of my current setup. You can see I've also got a temp gauge added which is where I have been bleeding, but its a bad spot. Instead of adding another piece in line, I'm going to drill and tap the actual thermostat housing and put a little bolt or something so I can bleed it there.

Make sure you use a brass impeller water pump. For whatever reason, they are the best for this truck.

funny you said that, I was thinking today if someone has any recommendations about the pumps...
I know they come with a lifetime warranty but that is not the main concern here: PERFORMANCE!!!
If We are sending all this money, I will make sure we get the best we can afford!

I'm trying to find the specs on our radiator's hoses ( don't know our ID) and really will like to order the housing asap.
Do you remember size? or by any chance have the parts numbers handy?
thanks

2 water temp sender adapters ( 1 for bleeding and 1 for a gauge)
2 switches for a) ford electric fan and b) will add a pusher fan
water temp gauge
1 btw lower radiator hose.
Pending on :
Ford Fan:the ford fans i found at eBay cheaper than and the auto parts, advance shows Dorman 620-101, sounds familiar?
Radiator & water pump: apparently there isn't any "upgrade option"

Check back in and let us know how the fan works for you. My Flex-a-lite 180 has proven inadequate in traffic with A/C on. I am on the fence between trying the ford or going back to the clutch fan.
