Default Coolant to water ratio

Any harm in diluting the 50/50 green coolant to around 40 coolant / 60 water (distilled)? I switched over to green coolant a while ago after a thorough flush with distilled water.

I did the in line thermostat mod (180) last fall and my temps usually hover between 181 - 194. I'm obsessed with monitoring the temp on the scan tool and have seen the range slide up a few degrees now that its getting warmer. Thought that having a little more water in the mix + some water wetter may keep things a little cooler. May also take off the big brush guard with the Big aux lights to increase air flow.

Fancy passing along your brush guard and lights?

All in the name of lower temps of course

I'm keeping my eye out for just that.

When I bought an electric main fan the instructions recommended 75/25 water to antifreeze for best cooling (in warm climate).

My ratio is pour some of this, pour some of that. Works fine. I keep it at 50/50 in the winter, though.

In Redwood City, you could run it 100% water if you really wanted too. The lowest temp I have ever seen here in the Bay Area is 35F. 60/40 is probably the best for here. You get a better heat capacity with 60/40. But if you want to go to Tahoe in the winter, get a coolant tester to make sure that the truck is ready for below freezing temps.

The truck is a "Trail" edition. I got rid of the rear ladder and tail light guards long ago, but I'm going to hang on to the brush guard and eventually get around to fixing the aux light relay box thing with a normal relay.

Take her to Tahoe all the time in the winter. I'd go back to 50/50.

Thanks for all the replies.
