Default A couple of odd questions.

1. Does anyone know the diameter and pitch of the transmission fill plug?
2. The inside diameter of the transmission cooler lines?
3. Has anyone sucessfully put disco II headlights from the 03-04 on to a 2001?

Thank you.

I agree with Spike. The 03-04 headlights tend to get water in them and condensate, leading to corroded sockets. They will also turn yellow and get scratched since they are plastic and not glass like the older ones. Bottom line is that they look nicer and make the truck look newer but aren't as practical and in the long run will look worse.

1. M16 x 1.50, it's also 13mm long with a 8mm allen head
2. Sorry, can't help you with this one
3. x2 on the headlights. Mine have condensation in them, are scratched up, and have UV damage.

Most of the water problems are from people not being careful when changing bulbs. When I got my 03, one of them was half full of water. I took it off, drained the water out and re-seated the caps that cover the bulbs. There hasn't been water in it since. They are plastic, so the outside will get scratched and cloudy over time. I wonder if someone makes a clear plastic sticker to put over them....

When changing the bulbs in 03-04 headlight be sure to properly align the rear caps with O rings, fully turned till locked. There are tiny triangles that must point to each other, that how you know they are down tight. I have had them off and on So man time when I fitted HIDs I'm really good at it. My rover is now 7 years old and no yellowing or moisture inside. I did put a bag of those silica beads in there that come in new items in the mail. They suck up moisture. I dont think the clear will yellow with time because its poly carbonate, not just clear ABS plastic. I use the 4 fin headlight guards to protect mine and have been lucky so far. I think Rover makes them and so does Travel from England.
IMHO, the 03 headlight really make the car look cool. But if I had a 00-02, I dont know if I would spend the $400 to retro fit. Its a lot of money for a purely cosmetic mod.

Yeah, I just meant to protect them before they get all cloudy on the outside.
